Simon has been acting as a trusted adviser for over 25 years and has been taking formal appointments as a licensed insolvency practitioner since 2004.

His experience spans from straightforward SME appointments in liquidations and administrations to more complex advisory assignments and includes a large number of assignments requiring in-depth investigations and disputes.

James Varney

James has been advising companies and individuals for over 13 years, qualifying in 2019.

He started his career helping individuals in financial difficulty but then went on to develop his corporate insolvency experience in a top ten accountancy firm.

James is known by his clients for excellent service and delivery of strategies to navigate the most difficult financial situations.
Tom Maker
Director

Tom has over 10 years’ experience offering restructuring and insolvency advice to companies and is qualified to act as an insolvency practitioner, passing the JIEB exam in 2020.
He specialises in formal insolvency procedures, particularly administrations, CVAs and CVLs, but has a wide range of experience in other procedures and general advisory assignments.
Tom enjoys providing solutions to complex problems which his client’s face and is always happy to have a discussion.
Archie Edmonds

Holding a certificate of proficiency in insolvency, Archie has been working in restructuring since 2019. He specialises in corporate insolvency matters, supporting businesses through complex financial challenges.

He has worked accross a wide range of formal processes, including administrations, liquidations and CVAs, helping stakeholders navigate distressed situations with clarity and confidence. Clients have benefitted from Archie already finding effective solutions to challenging situations.
Victoria Edwards

With a background in law, Victoria has been a banking and finance partner in a prominent London law firm for 14 years and has worked in the legal sector for nearly 25 years.
She brings with her a host of commercial and practical experience in the real estate and finance sector along. She also has an aptitude for business development and joins Arafino as a consultant.
